We were scheduled to have a c-section on Thursday, May 8th at 11:00. Well, things got moving a little sooner with contractions stgarting at 4:00am and were 5 minutes apart by 6:30am. So the dr. said to head to the hospital early, which we did and lead our c-section getting moved up. We switched surgery times with the 9:30am and were back in the O.R. by 9:45 and Madelyn Elaine entered the world at 10:12am. She has delicate features and weighed 7 lbs 15 oz (1 lb 3 oz less than her big brother) and is 20.5 inches long (1 1/2 inches shorted than Nolan). In the recovery room she took to nursing very well and while she headed to the nursery, Mommy got sick as a result of eating too many ice chips.
We were then moved to our room around 1:45pm. Mommy, Daddy and Madelyn all took a nap. Then Madelyn ate again before her big brother, Nolan, came to meet her for the first time. Nolan sat next to her, but didn't really know what to think. He touch her head and then was ready to go to dinner. So after dinner he came back with G/G Roscoe and during that visit he ignored Madelyn and enjoyed all of the switches and buttons in our room. We attempted to get family pictures, but he was not cooperating. Needless to say, the first day was exhausting.

Congratulations, Roscoes!!! She's beautiful, and we're so glad to hear everything went smoothly! It's amazing how quickly your "baby boy" grows up overnight when you sit him next to the new baby, isn't it? He looks like a little man now! Best of luck with your first days home, and Happy Mother's Day!!!
Nolan looks especially big when you change Madelyn's diaper and then you changed his HUGE diaper. But he is still our baby, we just have two now.
